Group C - Can 2021

CAN 2021, which is a competition which the gratin of African football ensures to meet, will take place from January 9 to February 6, 2022, in Cameroon. According to the draw made on August 17, the Atlas Lions who are at the head of group C, will face the Black Stars who are regulars in this African competition, the Panthers of Gabon, as well as the Coelacanths. Comoros who are preparing to participate for the first time in the CAN in its final phase. Indeed, Group C of the Africa Cup of Nations, which is made up of Morocco, Ghana, Comoros and Gabon, is quite eclectic and will be worth the detour.

Morocco

Favorite of Group C, Morocco, which is one of the only nations to have won all its qualifying matches for the 2022 World Cup, will be one of the teams to follow during this edition of the African Cup of Nations. Vahid Halilhodzic's team will do everything to forget their elimination in the round of 8 by Benin during the last CAN. Although they have not won the competition since their only victory in 1976, the Atlas Lions will want to get back on the roof of Africa by winning this CAN. It is important to mention that Morocco's last final dates back to that of 2004 in Tunisia.

Facing the Atlas Lions, the Black Stars are registered as the main outsider. Ghana come in with favorite status, although the team is no longer that war machine of yesteryear. André Ayew's team has new stars like Felix Afena-Gyan from Rome and Kamaldeen Sulemana from Rennes. During this edition of the African Cup of Nations, Ghana will have a feeling of revenge, since they had packed their bags since the round of 8 during the last CAN, against Tunisia. The Blacks Stars are among the best African teams of this decade, they have worked to be able to shine in almost all the CANs. Being in 3rd place, behind Egypt and Cameroon, Ghana has not won the Africa Cup of Nations since 1982.

In addition, they have in their ranks one of the best scorers in the history of the Serbian league, Ben El Fardou, who plays for the famous Red Star of Belgrade.

Last in Group C, Gabon has struggled to regain its form for a few years. Despite the presence of Denis Bouanga, Mario Lemina or Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, the Panthers find it difficult to get their teeth out during this last period. However, in football anything is possible. The Gabonese will be able to create a sensation in this group made up of top names.
